YouTube Launches New Creator Tools with AI

YouTube has announced a range of new creative tools and features, including its first generative AI elements, at its “Made On” showcase event. The new tools aim to help creators move in line with the latest trends and tools.

One of the most interesting new features is “Dream Screen,” which allows creators to add AI-generated image or video backgrounds to their YouTube Shorts. This could open up new possibilities for creators, and make it easier for them to create engaging and visually appealing content.

Like other generative AI clips, the panda video looks a bit strange. But as YouTube star Zach King points out, you’ll also be able to add creative backgrounds and other elements using simple text prompts.

Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram are also experimenting with generative AI elements, so it’s no surprise that YouTube is following suit. As generative AI improves, it could open up even more creative opportunities for creators to customize and create video clips.

YouTube is also launching its own version of TikTok’s video editing platform, called YouTube Create. This new, free app will provide creators with access to a range of tools to make it easier to create complex video clips.

Generative AI could lead to a lot of similar content, since it is based on what is already popular. However, it could also help creators get inspired by showing them what types of clips are resonating with audiences.

YouTube is also testing a new automatic dubbing tool to help creators expand their content to more languages, and adding assistive search in Creator Music to help creators find the right audio for their clips.

AI tools are a powerful new addition to YouTube, with the potential to change the way creators create unique and creative content. However, it’s important to remember that these tools are derivative and can only suggest ideas that are similar to what’s already out there. When used wisely, AI tools can provide valuable guidance and inspiration, but they should not be seen as a replacement for originality.
