Twitter Announces Ad Revenue For Verified Users

Elon Musk has now announced ad revenue for verified users.

Users with Twitter Blue subscriptions will now be able to earn revenue from ads that appear in their reply threads.

Twitter Blue is now available in the following countries:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • New Zealand
  • Australia
  • Japan
  • United Kingdom
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Germany
  • Spain
  • Portugal
  • France
  • Italy

By enabling ad revenue, Twitter aims to bring more creators to the platform and promote Twitter Blue subscriptions.

As far as the accounts verified under the legacy criteria are concerned, they are not eligible for ad revenue. In fact, Elon Musk believes that the legacy criteria were inherently corrupt and has announced that those checkmarks will sunset in a few months.

In any case, Twitter holds the right to remove any checkmark, regardless of the criteria under which it was granted, from any account at any time.
