YouTube Allows Users To Add Thumbnails To Shorts

Earlier this week, YouTube added new metrics to YouTube Analytics.

Now you can also see the breakdown of new subscribers based on content type(shorts, videos, and community posts).

YouTube now also shows views per content type on mobile phones via YouTube Studio mobile app. Earlier, this metric was only visible on the web.

Now, YouTube has also announced that you can select a frame from your video as a thumbnail from your Shorts.

Though you can’t directly upload a thumbnail from your shorts, you can include it in the first few seconds of your shorts and select that frame as your thumbnail.

This thumbnail will be visible:

  • In the shorts tab of your profile
  • In the feed of your subscribers
  • On the recommendations on the home page of viewers
