Twitter Opens The Waitlist For Gold Checkmarks

Twitter has now opened the waitlist for the gold checkmarks for businesses.

In mid-December last year, Twitter announced that they were launching gold checkmarks for businesses and official labels for government organizations.

They have now officially launched a waitlist, where you can enter information about your business and request a gold checkmark.

Interestingly, Twitter has not yet announced any eligibility criteria for businesses to sign up, or a screening process that they will be using to assess applications.

If anyone can get a gold(or blue for that matter) checkmark, why would businesses want one in the first place?

And, wouldn’t that encourage scammers to misuse the platform to impersonate brands and spread misinformation about them?

While we can’t predict the future of the platform, it will be interesting to see Twitter make the news as Elon Musk comes up with more ways to make the platform “more alive”.

Will you consider paying for the gold checkmark? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us.
