Instagram Makes it Easier to Download Publicly Posted Reels

Instagram has announced that it is making it easier for users to download publicly posted Reels content. Starting today, users will be able to download Reels that are posted by public accounts. This means that you can now save Reels to your camera roll so that you can watch them later or share them with others.

To download a Reel, simply tap on the Share icon and then select the Download option. The Reel will be saved to your camera roll in a format that you can easily share with others.

Creators can also opt out of enabling downloads of their content in their Account Settings, so not all videos will be downloadable, while you can’t save privately posted content.

And it’s only available to selected users, at least for the time being. But outside of that, it’ll add another pathway for creators to maximise the reach of their content across platforms, which has enabled video downloads since forever, basically.

This new feature is a welcome addition for users who want to save Reels content for later. It is also a great way to share Reels with others who may not have seen them on Instagram.

You can also download Reels from your profile. To do this, go to your profile and tap on the Reels tab. Then, tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the Reel you want to download and select the Download option.

This new feature is available now for all users.
