X Introduces Video Embedding Options

X has announced a new option that allows users to embed videos in isolation from their posts. This means that videos will no longer appear in the main feed of users’ followers. Instead, videos will be displayed in a pop-up window when users click on them.

The new option is available for both videos that are uploaded to X and videos that are embedded from other sources. To embed a video in isolation from a post, users simply need to select the “Embed in isolation” checkbox when they are embedding the video.

X is rolling out the new option to all users gradually. Some users may have access to the option today, while others will need to wait a few days or weeks.

What does this mean for you?

The new option to embed videos in isolation from posts gives users more control over how their videos are displayed on X. This can be helpful for a number of reasons, such as:

  • Reducing clutter in your feed: If you typically post a lot of videos, embedding them in isolation can help to reduce clutter in your feed. This can make it easier for your followers to see your other content.
  • Highlighting important videos: By embedding important videos in isolation, you can draw more attention to them. This can be especially helpful if you are trying to promote a specific video or series of videos.
  • Creating a more immersive experience: Embedding videos in isolation can create a more immersive experience for viewers. This is especially true for longer videos or videos that you want viewers to watch all the way through.

How to embed videos in isolation from posts

If you have access to the new option, here is how to embed a video in isolation from a post:

  1. Create a new post or edit an existing one.
  2. Click the “Embed Video” button.
  3. Paste the URL of the video you want to embed.
  4. Select the “Embed in isolation” checkbox.
  5. Click the “Embed” button.

Once you have embedded the video, it will no longer appear in the main feed of your followers’ feeds. Instead, it will be displayed in a pop-up window when users click on it.
