Grow your audience with LinkedIn newsletters

LinkedIn is looking to improve its newsletter creation functionality to better serve its growing audience of newsletter subscribers. The company is rolling out an updated editing and publishing process that will make it easier for users to create and share their newsletters.

A new look and feel when publishing a Newsletter

LinkedIn is making it easier for users to create and publish newsletters with a new, updated editing and publishing process. The company has rebuilt the user interface (UI) to make it more intuitive and user-friendly, and has added a range of new features to improve the functionality of the newsletter creation process.

Host multiple newsletters to expand your audience

One of the most significant changes is the ability to save articles in progress as drafts. This will allow users to get feedback from others before publishing their newsletters, and to schedule their articles to publish when their audience is most likely to be active. Users will also be able to add a SEO title and description to their articles to improve their reach.

LinkedIn is also introducing the ability to host multiple newsletters in the app. This will allow users to create different newsletters for different topics or audiences. For example, a company could create a newsletter for each of its product lines, or a brand could create a newsletter for each region it operates in.

Finally, LinkedIn is adding auto-follow for newsletter subscribers. This means that when a new user subscribes to a newsletter, they will automatically be followed by the author of that newsletter. This will help to ensure that subscribers are always up-to-date on the latest content from the authors they follow.

The new newsletter editing and publishing process is expected to be rolled out to all LinkedIn users in the coming weeks.

LinkedIn newsletters have seen significant growth in recent months, as users have migrated from X and sought to focus on growing their LinkedIn presence. In 2022, sharing of original content on LinkedIn increased by 41% year-over-year, and the platform has continued to report “record levels” of engagement.

Improve your discoverability with auto-follow

LinkedIn has facilitated over 365 million total newsletter subscriptions, and newsletter readership has tripled over the past year, now exceeding 1.3 million daily readers in the app. These statistics highlight the significant potential opportunity for newsletters on LinkedIn, and could be a valuable consideration for your outreach, depending on your target audience.

LinkedIn plans to roll out its newsletter updates to all users over the next month. These updates include a new editing and publishing process, the ability to host multiple newsletters, and auto-follow for newsletter subscribers. These changes are designed to make it easier for users to create and publish newsletters, and to help them reach a wider audience.
